What Are The Goals Of 'Impact The Outcome'?

Impact the Outcome: Reclaim Community (IORC) aims to amplify the voices of racialized youth from marginalized communities to support youth in the prevention of violence and radicalization

Youth Gravity’s overall purpose is to build capacity among youth leadership to address the needs that racialized youth (14-25 years old) have and express within their communities. In addition, our project, Impact the Outcome: Reclaiming Community Community (IORC), will bring those voices forward to policy makers and researchers so they can support youth in the prevention of violence and radicalization more effectively and efficiently. This project will also contribute to building an evidence base, along with local capability and capacity, for improving the ability of adults and youth to work in partnerships to counter radicalization to violence.

IORC is a continuation of YG’s previous CRF-funded project: Impact the Outcome (IO). Through research during IO, it was discovered that there were select topics that were impacting the daily lives of the participants which lead them and their peers to be radicalized to violence. IORC will explore these topics with youth through further workshops. At the conclusion of these workshops, a final report will be created. The report will be shared at a wrap-up event, connecting IORC with researchers and practitioners across Canada. The event will present IORC’s findings to key government and local stakeholders and make the findings accessible to the community.
